Film Description
Becoming Air is an experimental short film that explores the invisible yet profound connection between breath, atmosphere, and all living beings. As each breath circulates through time and space, the film reflects on how we are deeply interconnected with both the past and the future of life on Earth.
Through a mixed-media approach, the film invites audiences to reconsider their relationship with the natural world, emphasizing the shared and continuous exchange that sustains all life.
Director:
Alisi Telengut is a Canadian artist of Mongolian origin whose award-winning work has been showcased internationally at institutions and festivals including Sundance, TIFF, Annecy, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Her films have received numerous honors, including Best Animated Film at the Québec Cinéma Awards.
Diego Galafassi is a Brazilian transdisciplinary artist working across documentary, experimental film, and new media. His work, including the mixed-reality experience Breathe, has been featured at Sundance’s New Frontier Program and exhibited globally.
Together, their collaboration on Becoming Air merges art, science, and storytelling to explore humanity’s deep interdependence with the living world.
