Film Description

Yahima is a short animated tribute to the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park in Puerto Rico. Inspired by Taíno culture and mythology, the film reimagines the world of the Arawak people and brings their stories and traditions to life through animation.

Director:

Rodolfo Enrique López-Gutiérrez is an animator and artist studying in the Animation Program at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. His work explores indigenous stories, environmental themes, and cultural heritage through animation, comics, and visual storytelling. Yahima was created as part of his animation studies and has screened at events including Chimeration in San Francisco and LUSCA Film Fest in Puerto Rico.
