Film Description
Borderlands Jaguar follows photographers Austin Alvarado and Ben Masters on a journey to document one of North America’s most elusive animals—the jaguar. As the species slowly returns to the landscapes of the American Southwest, the film explores the importance of protecting wildlife corridors along the U.S.–Mexico border.
Through striking imagery and on-the-ground storytelling, the documentary highlights the ecological significance of the region and the ongoing efforts to conserve habitat for jaguars and other wildlife that rely on cross-border migration routes.
Director:
Ben Masters is a Texas-based filmmaker, writer, and conservationist known for adventure and wildlife documentaries including Unbranded, The River and the Wall, Deep in the Heart, and The American Southwest. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in wildlife biology, Masters founded Fin and Fur Films in 2012 and focuses his work on wildlife conservation, public lands, and the natural history of the American West.
