Film Description

CULTIVATING AWE tells the story of Thomas and Constance Broz and their 30-year vision to transform an overgrazed horse breeding operation near Watsonville, California into Live Earth Farm—a thriving and diverse agricultural community. Through stunning cinematography and interviews in both English and Spanish, the film highlights how the Broz family’s dedication to regenerative farming supports farm workers, educates young people about sustainable agriculture, and provides nourishing food for the community. The film offers an inspiring look at how thoughtful stewardship of the land can create lasting environmental and social impact.

Director:

Anne P. Hamersky is a visual storyteller based in San Francisco whose work focuses on food producers, land stewards, and conservation efforts. Her photography and storytelling have appeared in publications including TIME, National Geographic Traveler, and Los Angeles Times Magazine. She has produced films for numerous agricultural organizations and authored the book Farm Together Now, which documents diversified farms across the United States. In 2025, she produced and directed Cultivating Awe, a documentary about Live Earth Farm in Watsonville, California, exploring the transformative power of regenerative agriculture and community-centered farming.
