Film Description
Fatal Watch is a gripping true-crime documentary that exposes the dangers faced by fisheries observers working aboard industrial fishing vessels. Through murder investigations and stories from the front lines of ocean conservation, the film reveals the hidden human cost of global overfishing and the growing threats to marine ecosystems and the world’s food supply.
Director:
Mark Benjamin is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer whose work spans more than four decades across documentary film and television. His credits include projects for HBO, PBS, National Geographic, and Discovery, as well as the Peabody Award–winning series Brick City. His conservation films include Ocean Warriors and Chasing the Thunder.
Katie Carpenter is an award-winning filmmaker specializing in conservation, science, and adventure documentaries. Her work includes Ocean Warriors, Chasing the Thunder, and National Geographic specials such as Battle for the Elephants. She has produced films for PBS, Discovery, and Animal Planet and is a leader in climate storytelling initiatives within the film industry.
