Film Description

Our Impact highlights innovative student-led solutions to climate change developed at the Maricopa Institute of Technology. The film explores how students are working to reduce transportation emissions through the development of sustainable algal biofuels and agricultural research. By showcasing real-world experimentation and collaboration, the project demonstrates how young scientists and innovators are contributing to solutions for one of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Director:

Santiago Rodriguez Montiel is a student filmmaker at the Maricopa Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona. As President of the Media & Yearbook Club and a Student Council Representative, he plays an active role in organizing school media projects and events. Santiago is also a multi-sport athlete competing in cheer and track at the state championship level. Outside of school, he volunteers at his church as part of the production team, gaining hands-on experience in media and live event production. Through filmmaking, Santiago enjoys combining creativity and storytelling to highlight meaningful issues and community projects.
